My name is Wangchen Drew Yonzon, and I’m the proud founder of Shifa Shangrila, a company born from my Tibetan heritage and my family’s deep connection to the healing powers of Himalayan Shilajit.
From a young age, I listened to stories of my ancestors making the arduous journey high into the Himalayas, to the Upper Dolpa region of Nepal over 16,000 feet above sea level to collect Shilajit from rugged mountain cliffs. For us, Shilajit has never been just a health supplement. It has always been a sacred gift from the earth something to be used with respect, and shared with care.
I still remember watching my grandparents preparing Shilajit in small batches, using traditional methods handed down through generations. They taught us how to recognise the highest quality resin, how to cleanse it, and how to consume it in harmony with the body and the spirit. Even during difficult times, this practice was never neglected. It reminded us of who we are and where we come from.
Today, I carry this family legacy forward through Shifa Shangrila. We still harvest our resin from the same high-altitude, untouched Himalayan regions. Every step from sourcing to purification is done in small batches using the same reverent methods my family has always used.
We purify our Shilajit using Ayurvedic techniques, including:
- Spring water rinses
- Herbal infusions
- Cold filtration to preserve its natural bioactive properties
The resin is then sun-dried naturally at altitude, without the use of chemicals, additives, or artificial heat. Each batch is independently lab-tested in the UK, confirming its purity and 75.6% fulvic acid content.
